12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Prestyn is an athletic 3B/RHP that showed great work ethic at Dodgertown. At 3B, Prestyn showed relaxed actions as he took +angles to the ball as he gets to an athletic fielding position working through the ball. His exchanges are clean as he works to throw showing the ability to get rid of the ball from multiple slots. His arm action is clean as he delivers the ball with accuracy and carry. At the plate, Prestyn had competitive at bats during the game. He starts in a square stance with comfortable hands and gets the barrel on plane. He makes consistent contact showing a solid line drive approach. On the mound, Prestyn showed a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The FB shows some good life, the CB is 11-5 with sharp break, and the CH is 53-56 MPH. Pitching, Prestyn keeps his head over his back foot and separates on time as he works down the mound. He accelerates to the target getting good extension to finish. Prestyn shows great upside and we look forward to seeing his progress.

07/16/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Prestyn is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Behind the plate, Prestyn shows efficient footwork and centers the ball when blocking. He presents a good target to the pitcher and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and takes a level swing, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Prestyn shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 50-54mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 57mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
