Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

10/27/2019 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Quentin increased radar velocity and exit velocity both to 66 MPH during his last workout in Corpus Christi. At SS, Quentin showed playable hands and feet, and he looks the ball into his glove. He tries hard to center properly, shows a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with some accuracy across the diamond. Quicker feet and playing through the ball will help improve abilities at SS. On the mound, Quentin has a loose arm circle, a repeatable delivery, and he separates his hands on time. He has a simple delivery, a controlled landing toward home, and he is around the zone with his pitches. More extension and added arm strength will help abilities on the mound continue to improve. Offensively, Quentin has an open stance, a short stride, and he swings aggressively. He tracks well to contact and hits with some strength to the pull side. More live hands, better timing, and added lower 1/2 will help spike hitting.

10/28/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Corpus Christi, TX Quentin worked out at SS and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. In the INF, Quentin showed active feet, good range to the glove side, and he looks the ball into his glove. He keeps the ball in front of his body, his exchange is clean, and he can throw from multiple arm slots with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Quentin has a good frame, a loose arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. His FB touched 59 MPH during the workout. At the plate, Quentin stands in the box with a tall set-up, his stride is short, and he gets the bat through the zone well. He swings on plane and can spray the ball to all fields.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Quentin is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that works hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Vero Beach. At SS, Quentin has an efficient prep step, clean exchange, and throws from multiple arm slots. He needs to continue to present a low/early glove, work from the ground up, and play thru his back hand. At the plate, Quentin starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has a simple approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and hunt the fastball. On the bump, Quentin keeps his eyes on his target and gets extension thru his release point. He needs to continue to find his balance point, separate on time, and work north to south. His fastball sits 47-52, his curveball has a 12-6 break, and he creates run on his changeup. Quentin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Corpus Christi, TX Quentin is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Quentin has active feet; he picks out the right hips, and works the double play nicely. He has a clean exchange gains ground, and throws with a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Quentin has a balanced delivery, on time separation, and gets good extension on his pitches. At the plate, Quentin has an athletic set-up, a still head, and a direct barrel to the ball. He has a short stride, swings in good rhythm, and makes consistent contact. Quentin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. Pre-pitch actions
2. Fielding position
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Landing
2. Arm action
3. Finish
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
