07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Quincy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Charleston, WV Quincy is an athletic, OF/2B. Defensively in the OF, he takes a prep step and makes athletic routes to the baseball. He fields GB's with soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. At 2B, he displays active footwork as he gets into a low/square fielding position. He moves well laterally and fires strong throws to his target. At the plate, Quincy presents an athletic setup. He whips his barrel fast through the zone and stays balanced throughout contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Smooth backhand
2. Quicker exchange to throw
Outfield
1. Get behind the fly ball
2. Play through the ball
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
