08/09/2011 - College PREP - Bear (Wilmington), DE Quincy is a thin, athletic catcher / 1st baseman who will graduate in 2012. Behind the plate, Quincy has soft / sure hands, fluid / active feet, and solid lateral movements. He has a low base, he sticks the ball well, and he gains ground. Quincy has a quick / clean exchange, and he throws with a short arm action with accuracy and carry to his target. A wider base and added arm strength can help improve catching abilities. At 1st base, Quincy presents his glove well, he is light on his feet, and he makes plays. He plays on the balls of his feet, his exchange is quick, and he throws with a short arm action with accuracy to his target. Playing in a lower position and lengthening his arm action will help INF skills improve. At the plate, Quincy has a square / athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has good barrel accuracy, direct hands to the ball, and he makes square contact. Quincy gets good extension through the ball and he makes decent use of his lower 1/2. More load and more direct hands to the ball can help solid hitting grades rise.
