Official Scouting Report

  • 3B/OFPosition Projection

02/26/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Quinn continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.16 runner. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active as he works around balls, creating angles, and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his foot quickness and displays range in the OF. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel (85 mph exit velocity) with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side.

02/13/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Quinn Brommer is a 2025 OF/3B. Athletic and projectable frame with room for added strength moving forward. Primary outfielder, moves well in the outfield on feet and takes nice angles to the ball, fields the ball out front and works through it, loose arm action with a high 3/4 release point. At 3B, he works through the ball, softness to hands with a quick transfer and accurate on throws across diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance and creates some separation in swing and shows bat speed through the zone. Works on a linear path and ball comes off the barrel well and shows ability to drive balls to the pull side. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him playing at the next level.

07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Quinn is a coachable, hardworking OF/RHP with lean build. In the OF Quinn shows active feet and a low fielding position. He gets his hands out front, making quick exchanges. His arm action is loose as he makes accurate throws to the infield with carry. Working on agility and footwork will help Quinn track down more balls in the OF. At the plate, Quinn sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load. As he gets his foot down, he gets his backside thru well and makes contact to all fields. Pitching, Quinn shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, CH. He starts square on the rubber with a simple starter step and gathers over the back rubber. His arm action is loose and keeps his shoulders in line to the plate. Working on becoming more mobile will continue to help improve Quinn's game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
