11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Indianapolis, IN Quinn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.34. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/11/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Indianapolis, IN Quinn is an advanced C/3B who plays above his grade. This 2027 grad recently impressed scouts with his actions. In the field, he shows solid range and natural ability. Is athletic in his throwing with the ability to changes slots based upon his defensive zones. Working on a solid throwing program with accuracy drills, will improve his arm across the diamond. Behind the plate, he registered a 2.58 pop time and showed he has a future at the position. Overall, Quinn is just scratching the surface of becoming a great star on the diamond.

07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Quinn is a lean catcher who will graduate in 2027. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.60 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. With 5 years to further develop, Quinn has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
