08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Quinn continues to show as a 1B/RHP with steady play in his baseball abilities. Feet are active as he squares up ground balls and present soft / clean hands and has improved his defensive grade. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to work to improve footwork around the bag. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but is slightly better from the right side. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a good recognition of the strike zone. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load more and use his lower half. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.
