07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Quinton is a hard working 2023 1B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, he starts on the balls of his feet and has efficient footwork while creating good fielding angles. He gets into a low fielding position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action that fits position. Accuracy on his throws will improve as he learns to keep his feet active through the throwing process. At the plate, he hits from an upright and even stance with loose/comfortable hands. Small/square stride with a smooth swing and good timing. He gets on-plane early with good extension through the ball and has a fast bat through the hitting zone. Has natural power to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 4 times with a double, a single, a base on balls, and a hit by pitch with 4 RBI's. On the mound, Quinton gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm stroke. He rotates to target with the proper stride length and level eyes. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 76-78mph with some cutting action and a 10/4 sweeping breaking ball with medium break. In 4 innings of work, Quinton induced soft contact and punched out 5 batters. A long toss and J-band program will help with velocity and command. Overall, Quinton is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2023 grad.
