01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Ralph is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a square setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and tremendous raw power (90mph exit velo). In the field, Ralph shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws with carry through his target. On the mound, Ralph gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and finishes square to the plate. Ralph shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph. Breaking ball sits from 69-72mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Ralph is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

05/31/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Ralph is a 3B prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Ralph shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws consistently on-line to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Ralph improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with center balance. He gets into his load well and takes a level swing, leading to solid pop to his pull side. Ralph can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride toward the pitcher. Overall, Ralph is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/12/2019 - College PREP - Justin (DFW), TX Ralph is a talented young 3B/RHP prospect who graduates in 2022. At 3B, Ralph plays loose and free. He shows agility ranging to balls in the hole and on the line. Ralph shows off soft hands with clean exchanges and makes accurate throws with carry across the diamond. At the plate Ralph sets up in an athletic stance and shows fluid and smooth rhythm. He separates well allowing himself to create fast bat speed and a short direct path to the ball. Ralph makes consistent and square contact with gap to gap power. On the bump, Ralph separates on time and shows some plus arm speed at times. He mixes 3 pitches FB, CB, CH. The CB has 11-5 medium break. The CH is the best pitch and shows arm side run and depth. As a 2022 graduate, the future is bright for Ralph as he has a few more years to develop.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Ralph shined once again at the event in Pirate City. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. Pop times showed in the 2.56 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ralph is an athletic and talented 2022 3B prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At the hot corner, Ralph presents a low/ early glove, plays through the back hand, and has good footwork on double play feeds. He has a clean exchange, and a strong arm. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Ralph starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back, and has good rhythm in his hands. He creates back hip rotation into the ball and keeps his barrel flat through the zone. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and keeping his head down at contact longer will prevent him from rolling his hands. Ralph is eager to learn and will continue to improve with experience. We hope to see his progress in the future.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ralph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays proper footwork and moves well laterally. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will continue to increase as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows plus barrel accuracy with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
