12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1
Ranciel is an athletic 2021 Middle Infielder with a high baseball IQ. As a SS, Ranciel needs to continue presenting a low/early glove in his pre pitch set up, staying down on balls hit to his backhand, and playing through the ball. As a hitter, Ranciel has an athletic stance, good rhythm in his swing, attacks the inside part of the ball, and shows power to his pull side. If he continues to work on staying back on the ball he can display that power to the right side of the field as well. Ranciel is a hard worker and was a pleasure to coach. We hope to see his progress in the future.
12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2
Ranciel is a gifted shortstop that flashed the leather at the Baseball Factory Winter Classic. Defensively, he caught everything that came his way, working from the ground up in his fielding position, securing the ball with a sure glove. He showed good feeds and turns on double plays and with continued work to speed up his feet will take his skill up a level. Offensively, he showed loose hands and delivered the bat on a level path. He was selective at the plate and drew 3 walks in 10 plate appearances. During cage rotations, Ranciel worked on staying through the zone with his barrel and with his lower half, adding bat whip and pop. All in all - Ranciel is a promising ball player with plus defensive ability.

Ventura is an athletic R/R SS (5'3"/120). Defensively, he has quick/active footwork as he hustles around the GB into an athletic fielding position. He is sure handed, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Offensively, Ranciel displays a balanced/athletic setup with a solid base. Swing is short/direct to and through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives, barreling the ball up consistently. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.
1. Glove presentation out front
3. Play through ball
1. Level out swing path
2. Extension through contact
3. Contact points
