01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Randall really improved his hitting / power abilities at the Preseason All American event, especially from left side. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work to and through an aggressive swing path, creating extension. He has loose levers and strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Hands work inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with 2 3B. In the IF, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through while presenting glove well out front. Hands / feet work well together and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on throws. Randall has a ton of potential and is a sure player to follow.

10/11/2015 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Jackson continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movement, displaying range in the MIF. Feet are active / aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker and build more arm strength through a long toss program to improve grade. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best from the left side. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat as he works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap to gap pop.

06/13/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.78. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. He attacks balls and plays through well with his body, presenting hands well out front. Defensive grade will continue to increase as he improves his feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter, projecting best from the left side through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2B and 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/06/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Randall is a switch hitting middle infielder that will graduate in 2017. He has a good, relaxed setup from both sides of the plate and is clean with his swing path. His hands are direct to contact and he needs to continue to work on both sides. Defensively, he uses his feet to work around the ball and makes plays with a sure glove. He is quick to get to the ball and is controlled with his body to gain momentum to throw. Overall - Randall is an athletic player that has another 3 years to add strength for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
