Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

04/10/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Randy is a RHP/OF in the class of 2024 out of Baltimore, MD. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throw are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he uses an open stance with smooth rhythm and timing to start and land in a strong balanced launch position. From there, he gets his lower half through the zone with quick hands and an on plane bat path. He makes a lot of square contact with power to the pull side. On the mound, he does a good job of separating on time and extending through his pitches. He works a 3 pitch mix of fastball (73mph), a curveball with good break and a change up he throws with a loose arm action. Randy is a physical prospect who has the potential to take his game to the next level if he continues to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
