Behind the plate, Raul has active feet, he sits in low and athletically, and he presents his glove well. He looks the ball into his glove, blocks quickly, and throws with momentum and accuracy to 2nd base. At 2B, Raul has a presentable glove and active footwork. He fields low and athletically, funnels well to his chest, and throws with a short/accurate arm to his target. At the plate, Raul has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and a square stride toward the pitcher. He swings aggressively, has fast bat speed, and makes square/level contact. Overall skills can get even better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
