07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ray is a switch hitting SS/OF who will graduate in 2022. In the infield, he shows efficient footwork working around the baseball and taking good angles. He presents his glove out in front and shows sure hands with a clean release into his throws. In the OF, he works behind the baseball and shows good footwork in his exchange and throw. He makes accurate and clean throws to bases. Working on his range will help Ray get to more balls both in the OF and INF. At the plate, Ray showed the ability to make consistent contact from both sides of the plate starting from a square stance. He fires his backside well allowing him to hit line drives. Letting the ball travel will help him hit to all fields. Ray will be a solid prospect to watch as he brings a plus tool being a switch hitter.

01/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Ray is a SS/OF who will graduate in 2021. In the middle infield, he moves lightly on his feet as he gets into a square fielding position. He has plus range with a clean exchange to throw and makes accurate throws to his target. In the OF, he works to get around the ball. He stays behind on fly balls with comes up firing with a quick release. At the plate, Ray sets up square in the box. He drives pitches back up through the middle of the field as he stays balanced through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Prep step
2. Soft hands
3. Work through more

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
