02/24/2024 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Rayan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he shows fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. In the OF, he has improved defensive abilities are well. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Rayan is a 2027 SS who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series. At SS, he works to center the ball and showed ability to make routine plays. He fields from an athletic fielding position with hands out front and follows his throws to first base. Made throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 60mph. A long toss and J-band throwing, along with a baseball specific weight training program, will help Rayan with arm strength. At the plate, he hits from a relaxed and even stance with low hand set. He showed good awareness of the strike zone and only offered at pitches in his zone. Keeps his hands inside the baseball as he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 53mph. During the event, Rayan reached base 5 times with 3 singles and 2 base on balls. Overall, Rayan is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/26/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Rayan is a SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he creates good angles and works to square balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 5 years to further develop, Rayan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
