Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2BPosition Projection

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Raymond is a tall and athletic 2B in the 2025 class. In the field, he is very active and moves well from side to side. Shows advanced feel for age around the bag with his feeds and turns. Working to throw the top of the baseball will increase his velo and accuracy. At the plate, he begins with an athletic stance and balanced set-up. His stride is short and quick and gains proper separation. Timing is smooth and he gets his barrel to the zone quickly (81 exit velo). Generates hard contact and shows line drive production to all fields. With continued work, Raymond can become a fine 2025 prospect.

03/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bronx, NY Raymond is an athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he creates good angles and works to square balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Raymond has potential with time and room to progress his game.

12/09/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Raymond is a young, thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Raymond has efficient footwork, he fields in a low/square position, and he makes plays consistently. He has athletic actions, a clean exchange, and a loose arm across the diamond. On the mound, Raymond has good balance, he separates on time, and has good direction toward home plate. He keeps his eyes on target and is around the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Raymond has a square set-up, a direct barrel, and he makes contact. He will need to work on the following in order for skills to improve.

1. Footwork
2. Release
3. Arm strength
Pitching

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
