06/03/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Raymond is an athletic two-way prospect who showed well during Baseball Factory's National Florida Showcase. In the OF, Raymond shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with explosive bat speed and good extension, leading to solid contact and good raw power. On the mound, Raymond gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Raymond shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 88mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 73-75mph with sudden 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 75mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Raymond is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Raymond continues to show as a top prospect at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the OF, he utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth/clean actions with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry (90 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he showed a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength (88 mph exit velocity) in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, he is controlled gathering to his balance point and works with quick arm. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 87 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 67-68 mph with 12/6 break. Changeup sits from 75-76 mph with arm side run. Control is excellent as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches.

09/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Raymond is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Raymond fields with soft hands and makes strong throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH barrels up the baseball well and produces solid contact. Overall, Raymond is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
