07/29/2017 - Under Armour All-America Game, Powered by Baseball Factory Raynel is one of the purest hitters in the entire 2018 class. The switch-hitter has excellent bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate, finding the barrel with consistency. His stroke has natural rhythm with flashes of power. As a defender Raynel is fluid and confident with dependable hands and the instincts to play nearly anywhere on the field. Committed to Florida International.

06/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida This athletic MIF shows a tremendous future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. A switch hitter - hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level as he shows big play potential. Raynel has a ton of upside and possesses the skill-set that will play at a very high level and will be a solid 2018 draft pick.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Raynel had an outstanding showing at the UAAAPS event in Arizona. It was his second consecutive year in attendance and he has made some great strides in all facets of his game. He is a confident infielder with smooth actions, soft hands, an efficient exchange/release and plenty of carry across the diamond. At the plate Raynel swung the bat well from both sides of the plate. He utilizes a hanging leg kick from both sides and has rhythm and natural hitting actions. His hands are quick and he uses the whole field from each side, flashing more present power from the left. A very polished and complete player, he is a prospect to watch closely in the 2018 class.

09/17/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Raynel is a high level player, and he continues to get better each time we see him. Once again, he proved that he can really swing the bat from both sides of the plate. He has very good eye/hand coordination giving him a knack for finding the barrel. He is unfazed by velocity and stands in well from both sides of the plate against quality pitching. He uses the whole field both right-handed and left-handed and the ball comes off his bat with life. As a defender Raynel is fundamentally sound with fluid actions. He plays low with dependable hands, an efficient exchange and an accurate arm across the diamond. He continues to be a high level follow with even more future upside.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Raynel is one of those talented young players possessing outstanding tools and the ability to use those tools in the game. He is an advanced defender who plays low and has soft, sure hands. Balls hit to him are outs and he is equally comfortable going to the forehand and backhand sides. He reads balls well off the bat, does a good job of picking the right hop and has an internal clock that allows him to properly gauge his pace. Offensively, Delgado has a simple, clean stroke from both sides of the plate. While he has a bit more power and loft from the left side, he finds the barrel both right and left-handed. This is really a complete player who is one of the top performers in the 2018 class.

09/19/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Delgado has an advanced feel for the game that allows him to put all the tools you see in a workout into play live in games. He played very low to the ground defensively, and moved very light on his feet. He was efficient with his first step to cover ground, and showed the body control to complete plays off balance and from a variety of arm angles. A switch-hitter, he featured a short & simple stroke with barrel accuracy from both sides of the plate. He appeared to be a little strong left-handed, where he drove line drives from gap to gap. In game at bats he proved to see & react to pitches very well from both sides of the plate - he kept his hands back on a breaking ball for a sharp groundout, made a good swing on a good pitch early in the count, and made hard opposite field contact with 2 strikes in a later at bat. Overall, a “baseball player” with usable hit & field tools and natural instincts to play the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
