12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Reece is a tall, lean RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he shows good tempo through a repeatable delivery and low ¾ arm slot. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late/sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches for the next level. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 3 years to further develop, Reece has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.
