07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Reggie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball shows a range of 72-75 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with loose spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Reggie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best to time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with zip across the diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well with power improving as he continues to get stronger.

12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Reggie is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Reggie shows a good first step and active footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them strong through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered with his lower half. He takes a level swing with plus barrel control, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Reggie starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a loose, quick arm, staying inline towards the plate. Reggie shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with arm side run. Changeup sits at 59mph with deceptive arm speed. With five more years to develop, Reggie has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
