12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Remington is an athletic and talented 2020 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Remington starts in a crouched stance and creates backside rotation with his lower half. He needs to continue to load his hands into the drive position, attack the inside part of the ball, and keep his head down at contact. Remington will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/21/2018 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Remington is a 1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Remington shows fluid footwork and flashes good range to his glove side. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Staying low on backhand plays can help Remington improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an atheltic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Remington can improve as a hitter by taking a level swing path. Overall, Remington is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/08/2018 - College PREP - Gambrills, MD Remington is a lean, lanky 1B who will graduate in 2020. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to be on time. With 2 years to further develop, Remington has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
