06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Rene is a thin 3rd baseman who will graduate in 2023. Defensively, Rene has athletic actions, efficient footwork, and he fields out in front of his body. He has clean hands, he gets rid of the ball quickly, and throws with accuracy to his target. If Rene can continue to add arm strength and work on reps, defensive skills will continue to get better. At the plate, this RHH has a tall/square stance, high hands, and a rhythmic swing. He has good hand-eye coordination, he makes consistent contact, and he can hit to all fields. Hitting numbers can improve if Rene can liven up his hands, level off his swing, and sharpen barrel accuracy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
