06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Rennick is a RHP/3B prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the Omaha National World Series. On the mound, Rennick gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Rennick shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 65-67mph with 10-4 break. Splitter sits from 71-72mph with good downward action. Extending through his release more can help Rennick improve as a pitcher. In the field, Rennick makes the routine plats and makes a two-handed exchange. His arm fits his position and he makes strong throws through his target. Rennick can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is controlled getting into a small load and takes a level swing. He shows plus barrel control with fast bat speed through the zone, leading to solid contact to all fields. Driving his lower half more can help Rennick improve as a hitter. Overall, Rennick is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
