Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Rhease is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown. In the field, Rhease tracks the ball into his glove well and gains good momentum on his throws across the diamond. Rhease can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes consistent contact with the ball. Rhease can improve as a hitter by working more of a load into his swing. On the mound, Rhease shows a good tempo and a clean arm action in his delivery. His fastball tops out at 60mph with decent arm side tail. Rhease can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half towards the plate in his motion. With five more years to develop, Rhease has the time and potential to further progress his game.

05/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Rhease is a lean, athletic 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he moves well laterally as he works into a square fielding position. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP gathers over the rubber and delivers from a hi 3/4 slot. He gets to a strong balance point and works in line towards home plate. With the stick Rhease sets up square in the box and gets back into a load. He strides short to each pitch and stays balanced when barreling up pitches in the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Develop off speed pitches
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
