04/02/2017 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Rhett is a lean RHP/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds / turn of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Rhett has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
