07/27/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Richard is a 2017 graduate who plays RHP/3B. He has better than average arm strength with loose arm action and he is accurate to his target. On the mound Richard displayed a good balance point, good extension out front, he holds runners well and he throws strikes. He needs to finish better, he is too early with separation (shows ball too early), his arm stops at the top instead of being a continuous smooth motion and he needs to get on top. As a defensive player Richard has above average arm strength with loose arm action and he is accurate to his target but he needs to work on his lateral quickness, field the ball out front more, be more aggressive and long toss. At the plate Richard has an athletic set-up, stable balance, timing is good, lower half gets through and he has a level swing path. He needs to develop a smooth load (no arm bar), shorten his stride, and avoid casting his hands toward the ball. Richard is a good kid, he is coachable, a good athlete and he showed improvement during the Pirate City event. Richard needs to work hard on the fundamentals and make some adjustments but he possesses the athleticism to be successful in baseball.
