11/16/2008 - ACR-E - California - 6 Richard continues to show steady improvement. He ran his best 60 time to date, cutting a tenth off his 60 time. He also improved his arm strength grade but does need to get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength. He has a thin frame that does show projection as it continues to physically mature and could speed the process by developing more overall body strength through a weight program. He showed off his athletic ability in his feeds and turns with double plays. He is aggressive with his feet and can utilize more by playing through ground balls with his feet and hands. At the plate, Maier is a contact hitter that stays on top of the baseball. Hitting grades would improve quickly with some instruction and adjustments at the plate. Richard has potential abilities with a lot of room to improve.
