07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Rick is a young player who is coachable and continuing to improve. In the infield, he squares the ball up nicely and keeps the ball in front with his fielding position. He makes the routine plays and also has good range. He can work on getting on top with his throws, although knowing how to throw from different angles is important to middle infielders. On the mound, he has a controlled balance point and separates on time. He also does a good job of keeping his shoulders level throughout his delivery. Rick can work on lengthening his stride and stiffening up his landing leg after he lands which will help him have a better finish. At the plate, he has a crouched set up and does a decent job with his lower half. He makes contact consistently and battles with two strikes thanks to his level bat path. He can work on his rhythm and timing which will help loosen up his body during the swing. Overall, Rick will continue to improve as he works on fundamentals and receives instruction.
