10/11/2015 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Ricky is a 2-way 2016 grad with an athletic build. At the hot corner, he fields with consistency and solid feel for 3B. He gets rid of it quickly with an accurate throw across the diamond. As he works to play through the ball more and gain arm strength, his defensive abilities will improve. On the mound, Ricky pitches from a hi 3/4 slot with some natural arm side run on his FB. He keeps his eyes on the target with excellent tempo. Using more of his lower 1/2 and finishing in line will allow Ricky to improve his command and velocity. Offensively, he hits with quiet but explosive actions at the plate. He works through the middle of the field with a consistent swing path and top of the lineup makeup. In all, Ricky is a talented player entering his senior year on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
