08/08/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Ricky is a lean, lanky LHP/OF who will graduate in 2017. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.35 60 time. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well as he makes the routine plays. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He will put the ball in play and makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-74 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his change with slight tailing action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Ricky has abilities with time and room to progress his game.
