07/18/2022 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Riley showed a spike in offensive numbers and an increase in exit velocity to 94 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. He is an athletic OF with improving skills. Defensively, Riley showed fluid footwork, agile range, and soft hands. He tracks well, footwork is active, and he throws with a long/accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Riley has an athletic stance, he loads well, and takes a short stride toward the pitcher. He has fast bat speed, he makes hard contact, and he hits line drives consistently.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Riley is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, Riley shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Long tossing can help Riley build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with comfortable hands. He takes a centered stride and hits against a strong front side. He extends through the ball well with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. Riley can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Riley gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a loose arm and keeps his eyes level, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Riley operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 62-65mph with 11-5 break. Extending through his release more can help Riley improve his pitch command. Overall, Riley is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/10/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Riley is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a short swing and produces strong line drives (88mph exit velo). In the field, Riley shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he makes consistent throws to his target. Overall, Riley is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Riley is a lean, athletic OF who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Riley has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
