03/22/2015 - National Tryout - Greensboro, NC
Riley continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He lets the ball travel into the zone and waits for his pitch. He has on-time rhythm and connects consistently. More power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive and more extension through contact. At 1B, he works well into a square fielding position and tracks the ball into his mitt. He is a good target for his other INF's and moves well around the bag. On the mound, Riley uses his frame and works to a tall balance point. He stays directional toward the plate and repeats his delivery well. More glove side lead and increased arm strength will help to raise velocity. Only a 2017 grad - Riley still has a ton of time to develop his skills.
07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14)
Riley is a tall, thin player who plays both 1B and is a RHP. At 1B, he provides a tall, lean target and is very active with his feet around the bag. He gets to the ball well and if will improve if he continues to improve his arm strength and release. On the mound, Riley is very balanced and has good timing with his release. He has an over-the-top release and works downhill well. There is good command over 3 pitches and he continues to improve his arm action to become looser. As a hitter, Riley has a squared stance with a good, long follow through. He has good action with his hips and is improving on letting the ball travel.
