12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City
Rob worked out both on the mound and at SS during Pirate City. On the hill, Rob works on a downhill plane, he has good direction, and he lands in a square position. His FB has good movement, he throws strikes, and he fields his position well. In the INF, Rob has athletic action, good body control, and his release is quick to his target. At the plate, Rob has good balance, some bat speed, and he can square the ball up on the barrel of the bat. Berman is a coachable player who is willing to make adjustments.
07/15/2013 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
Rob is a tall RHP/SS that will graduate in 2015. Feet are active as he works to square up balls and presents soft / clean hands well out front. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls more, play though, and increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Rob has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
