Official Scouting Report

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Robbie is a big, athletic (6'2, 182) prospect with a number of tools that jump out and make him an exciting player. Offensively, his combination of a level swing path and speed out of the box make him a prime top of the order type player. His quick hands and strong lower half generate pop to make consistent, hard contact and show pull side pop. In the outfield, his athleticism is on full display as he runs to balls in the gap with ease. His body control to play through the ball allows him to make strong throws to cut down base runners. Robbie is a well-rounded player who will continue to find success during his career.

10/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Tillman possessed some of the loudest tools at the Futures South event running a 6.62 in the 60 and throwing a raw velocity of 96 mph. The talented OF prospect has an athletic 6'2" frame and huge upside. His right-handed swing has some length and rawness to it, but he generates good bat speed thanks to his quick hands and the ball really jumps off his bat when centered. Robbie glides in the OF using his speed and quick first step to run down balls. He is fluid moving through ground balls as well with sure hands and a clean exchange and release to get to his big arm. Overall, this is a high ceiling CF prospect who needs to be followed closely in the next several years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
