04/03/2016 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Robby is a strong (6'0"/190) catcher who can catch and throw. Behind the plate, his sits in well with athletic actions and flexion while presenting a low target. He is quick laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws down to 2B are accurate coming from a clean exchange - pop times of 2.00. With the bat, this RHH shows a square/athletic setup with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack, squares the ball up and drives it as the ball explodes off of his barrel (exit velocity = 94 mph). Robby has a ton of upside and will make things happen on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
