10/21/2017 - FDI Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (14-18) Bobby is a coachable player that worked hard and made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Bobby hits from a crouched position. He identifies pitches and has a solid middle approach. If Bobby continues to stride towards the pitcher, and load his hands back into the drive position he will have better timing in his swing. Good tempo in his load will allow him to free up his backside and hands when attacking the baseball. Hitting the inside part of the ball, and engaging his backside will help him continue to make hard contact. Bobby will continue to improve with repetition and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/21/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Robert is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. At 3B, Robert approaches the ball from the right side and fields with his hands out in front of his body. He plays through the ball well and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Robert can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and shows center balance in the box. He gets into his load well and comes through the zone with fast bat speed. Robert can improve as a hitter by driving his back side through more. On the mound, Robert uses his lower half well in his motion and keeps the ball low in the strike zone. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-61mph with 10-4 break. Robert can improve as a pitcher by separating his hands earlier in his motion. Overall, Robert is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Robert is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Defensively at 3B, he takes aggressive routes/cuts to the GB. He hustles to get into a square fielding position and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this righty keeps his eyes on target and throws from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. He delivers a 3-pitch mix as he works in line towards home plate. With the bat, Robert displays an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He creates consistent barrel contact and drives pitches on a line to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral footwork
2. Develop soft hands
3. Clean exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Stronger frontside
3. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
Offense
1. Improve bat speed/hands
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. More level bat path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
