01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Robert continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.22 range with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He moves well laterally through the blocking process and creates good angles. Leadership traits are a plus and his is as a field general, controlling the game. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 5 with 2 BB as he displays a patient approach and strong recognition of the strike zone. Mental makeup is a plus as he is coachable, plays hard, and is a great team player.
