09/03/2011 - Accelerated Infield Weekend (Pre-High School) Rob worked very hard over the course of the 2 day camp. With a tall and athletic frame he will have to work hard to make sure that he is getting down low enough in the infield. While he does a good job of this there are a few areas that we would like to see him improve on. In his fielding position he tends to allow his glove to get very deep, almost directly underneath his body. Will need to work to present the glove out front more so that he can see the ball into the glove. One thing we really liked with him was his aggressiveness. He does a very good job of coming to get the ball, however at times he charges when he does not need to. Will need to work to make sure that he picks his hop rather than just charging through everything. His arm is more than adequate. He showed solid arm strength and carry across the diamond. Will need to work to use other arm slots and angles as the infield will require this from him. His hands were sure and he did a nice job of using his feet to work outside and through the ball. His double play feeds and slow roller work needs work but he was picking this up quickly at camp. Overall Robert did a good job, he does have some items to polish up but the ability is there he just needs to put in the time and repetitions to improve them.
