07/22/2014 - College PREP - Washington DC, MD Robert is a solid defensive catcher who will graduate in 2015. Behind the plate, Robert has quiet actions, good body control, and he blocks and receives the ball well. His hands are soft, he gains ground well, and he throws with a quick exchange with accuracy to 2nd base. At the plate, Robert has an open stance, direct hands to the ball, and he swings in good rhythm. He tracks the ball well, extends through properly, and uses his lower 1/2. More consistent barrel accuracy and staying short to the ball will help offense get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
