09/29/2021 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Bobby continues to showcase his baseball tools at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through, creating momentum to his target. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips (91 mph velocity) throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power (88 mph exit velocity) driving to all parts of the field. At the event, he was 4 for 11 and got on base 7 times while also swiping a few bags. He looks to take the extra base and is aggressive on the basepaths. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Bobby is a class of 2022 OF prospect. He shows off very high-level speed running his 60-yard dash in only 6.5 seconds. In the outfield, he shows the ability to track downs baseballs well using a combination of his speed and reads off the bat. He shows clean exchanges of the baseball before creating momentum to throw. His arm has plenty of strength to play at the next level and was up to 93 MPH. At the plate, he showed aggressive swings along with high-level bat speed. His exit velos were as high as 86 MPH. He used a repeatable swing and showed the ability to get the barrel on plane early. Bobby is a talented and athletic prospect with one more left to develop before college.

03/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Antonio, TX Bobby is an OF prospect in the 2022 class. Shows off an excellent frame. Very good athlete who ran a 6.72 in the 60. Also jumped an impressive 9’0 in the broad jump. In the outfield, he is able to play all 3 positions. Very aggressive downhill on ground balls. Showed off athleticism making a diving catch. Works behind the ball on fly balls. Uses his momentum to work through the ball and make throws with lots of carry. Throws were up to 88MPH. Capable of making any throw from the OF. At the plate, he uses his athletic ability to produce exit velos as high as 86MPH. Has a good setup that helps his head stay quiet through the whole swing. Keeps a good bat angle through the zone. Robert is a very talented prospect with the athletic ability to play at the next level.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Bobby is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Bobby shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He stays compact through the ball and uses the entire field well. On the mound, Bobby gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 65-66mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Bobby is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

11/20/2020 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend Bobby is a RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Texas Regional Skills Weekend. On the mound, Bobby gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Bobby shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 66-67mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 66-70mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Bobby improve his pitch command. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with comfortable hands. He gets into a smooth load and remains centered in his lower half. He stays short through the ball with strong barrel control, producing solid line drives. Bobby can barrel up more baseballs by taking a square stride toward the pitcher. Overall, Bobby is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/18/2020 - All-In Membership - San Antonio, TX Bobby is an athletic & skilled, 2-way player (OF/RHP) who can make things happen in a variety of ways. He showed his overall athleticism with a broad jump of 9'2", shuttle times as low as 4.34 and a 60 yard dash of 6.82. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and utilizes his speed to track down fly-balls hit into the gaps. He works behind and through the ball with a quick exchange to throw. As a hitter, this righty displays an athletic/open stance with a quiet head and patience as he waits for a pitch he likes. He jumps on pitches he likes, barrels the ball up and sprays line-drives. More lower 1/2 drive will help to tap into more power potential. On the mound, this RHP attacks the zone with 4 different pitches (FB, CB, SL, CH). He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB tops out at 78 mph as he fills up the zone with strikes. Curveball has 10/4 shape with tight spin. Slider shows similar action to his CB but with some tighter spin. Changeup shows good arm-side run as he throws it with FB arm-speed, showing to be a solid swing and miss pitch. Peterson has the tools that will provide success on the diamond in this his junior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
