Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Robert is a skilled and athletic 2-way player (3B/RHP) who showed well during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. With the bat, this RHH displays a balanced setup with patience waiting for a pitch he can drive. Swing is level to and through the contact point as he connects and hits line drives. At 3B, Robert has active prep footwork and moves fluidly from right to left in his approach to the GB. He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and has a clean exchange to fire across the diamond. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch arsenal in which he fills up the zone with throwing strikes and working to get ahead in the count. FB ranges 75-77 mph as he works it to both sides of the dish. He keeps his CB down in the zone as it has 10/4 shape with some good action showing to be his best pitch. Changeup has good downward movement as he throws it with FB arm speed helping to create some deception. Only a 2021 grad, the future is very bright for this 2-way prospect.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Robert is a talented and hardworking 2-way player. At the hot corner, Robert has an active prep step and presents a low/early glove. He works from the ground up and plays through the backhand. At the plate, Robert starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He stays balanced through contact and hits off a firm front side. On the bump, Robert gathers over the rubber, separates on time and drives his back side toward the plate. He has good tempo in his delivery and works downhill. Robert will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/18/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Robert is a tall, athletic 3B/RHP. At 3B, he displays a good pre pitch as he works to get into a low fielding position. He plays through the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. On the mound, this righty keeps his eyes locked in on his target. He delivers a FB with good life as he finishes strong with his off speed pitches. At the plate, Robert displays a balanced setup. He explodes his lower 1/2 through the zone as he extends through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. More energy
2. Softer hands
3. Quicker exchange
Pitching
1. Use more lower 1/2
2. Finish with FB
3. Long toss
Offense
1. More lower 1/2 drive
2. Bat speed
3. Level swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
