Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

08/05/2018 - College PREP - Burlington, VT Robert is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Robert gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose, arm action and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Robert shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with late 10-4 break. Changeup ranges from 65-66mph with arm side run. Robert can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. In the field, Robert shows fluid footwork and flashes good range to his glove side. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Robert can improve defensively by being more aggressive attacking the ball. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. Robert can improve as a hitter by getting into his load sooner. Overall, Robert is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
