Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Rocco is a talented C/RHP that can really play at the next level. As a catcher, Rocco presents a big low target, works behind the ball, and has a smooth exchange on his throws. Anticipating balls in the dirt and learning how to work his outside leg around the ball when blocking will elevate his game behind the dish. On the mound, Rocco has a 3/4 arm slot and good run on his FB. Staying balanced over the rubber, using his lower half, and finishing over his front side will increase his ability to throw strikes. As a hitter, Rocco is very aggressive on the FB, uses his lower half and creates bat speed through the zone. If he continues to attack the inside part of the ball he will increase his hard contact and power numbers to all fields. Overall, Rocco has shown that he is a special player and will continue to improve as he physically matures over time.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
