07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City On the mound Rodrigo showed a controlled balance point, good separation, a plus curveball, fastball has good movement and he throws strikes. He needs to develop a smoother tempo, stride at the target (so he is not throwing across body) and lengthen the arm action on the backside. As an infielder Rodrigo showed good arm strength/accuracy, active/fluid footwork and athleticism but his arm action is very hard on the elbow and playing through the ball is something he can improve upon. At the plate he has a solid load, decent balance, lower half works and he has good power. Rodrigo needs to track the ball all the way in, let the ball travel into the proper hitting zone and develop a mental approach to each at bat.

04/14/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Rodrigo is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Rodrigo has a sound arm action, he works to his balance point well, and he keeps his shoulders level. He pounds the zone with strikes, his off-speed show well, and he has good direction toward home. At SS, Rodrigo shows sure hands, he fields in a square position, and he throws with carry and accuracy to his target. Offensively, Rodrigo has a tall set-up, fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact. He has pull side pop, he can work the ball gap to gap, and he gets good extension through the ball. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
