07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Roger is a primary SS that continues to work hard to improve his game. In the infield he fields with firm hands, uses the proper footwork with his approach, and is aggressive to the ball. He is a smart infielder that always is in the game being very vocal. He showed the ability to lead and that will continue to take him far in the game. At the plate he has a good load, a nice rhythm, and made consistent contact during games. He has good bad speed for his age and could be a nice line drive hitter with a more consistent swing.

11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Roger is a young athletic player who plays SS. Defensively, he showed aggressive footwork fielding the ball out in front of his body. He does a nice job playing through the ball using his body well to throw. He can continue to work on creating better angles/ routes to the ball playing from right to left and focus on reaching a lower fielding position. Offensively, Roger shows a direct level path with good balance through his swing. Roger does a good job using the entire field with the ability to hit line drives. He can focus on better rhythm to his load as well as finishing more heel over toe on his backside. Overall, Roger shows abilities with room for improvement as he physically matures.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
