01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ronald is a 2027 switch-hitting C prospect who recently showed his skills at the Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he exhibits good size and a strong frame. He does a nice job of tracking the baseball and works hard to give his pitcher a good target. He does a nice job of replacing his feet when making throws and stays accurate to his targets. He makes strong throws from a high 3/4 slot. He does well to tuck his chin on balls in the dirt and keeps his back at a good downward angle. At the plate, he starts in an open stance while keeping his hands high and loose. He has a controlled stride from both sides of the plate and stays on-time and controlled with his rhythm. He barrels the ball consistently and does a nice job of rotating his core when finishing. He shows some pop from the right side as he recorded a max exit velo of 81 MPH. He reached base in 5 out of 9 plate appearances in game action with 5 walks, doing a nice job of staying disciplined in the box and not chasing. Ronald is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of!

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Ronald continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. Behind the dish, he sits low in a comfortable stance and presents a solid target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, deadening ball out front. He will benefit by improving flexibility. Pop times showed in the 2.61 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows good rhythm through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing, centering weight well.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - York, PA Ronald is an athletic C/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner and improve lateral movement. Pop times showed in the 2.30 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he maintains balance through an aggressive hip turn. With 4 years to further develop, Ronald has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
