08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Ronald continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/04/2018 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Ronald is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2019. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through balls more with momentum to his target. Range increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Ronald has abilities with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
