01/31/2016 - College PREP - Myrtle Beach, SC Ron is a tall, athletic OF who will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average, displaying smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground, displaying range through an aggressive approach. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Hands are soft / sure and works well away from his body. At the plate, he is a switch that shows potential from both sides of the plate. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. From the right side, he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. From the left side, power is best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying strength in his swing. Ron has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
