11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City Ross is an averaged sized SS/OF that plays the game hard and is extremely coachable. Offensively, he has a good load, nice rhythm and is on-time with a level swing path. He has quick hands and a good finish. He tracks the ball well, but has a tendency to move his head too much, which makes consistent/hard contact difficult. He also gets out on his front foot, which can be fixed by concentrating his landing on the ball of his foot. Defensively, he has sure hands, makes routine plays with a good setup and a clean exchange. Ross has an accurate arm, but his low arm slot promotes tail which takes away from carry and potential life. He should also work on getting his hands out in front, being more aggressive attacking ground balls, and becoming more agile. Ross will graduate in 2015, and with some added improvement to the areas addressed, he should be a promising prospect at either position he chooses.
