10/05/2022 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2025) Rowan is an athletic and versatile 2B/3B in the 2025 class. Scouts enjoyed watching him play at the AZ Sophomore Fall Classic and felt he was a hard worker and solid team player. In the field, he is quarterback type player and an excellent communicator. Rowan enjoys being vocal to bring energy and provide situational awareness to his teammates. He has active feet and agile movements to the baseball. Fields in an athletic position and has soft hands. Solid on his feeds and footwork on his DP actions. His feeds across the diamond are on-line from a high ¾ release. Working on a quicker exchange will allow him not to rush on the hard 90’s down the line. At the plate, he generates hard line drive contact (87 exit velo). He begins in an athletic stance and his stride is on-time. Loads his hands well and stays centered in his balance with a firm front side. Working to shorten his swing with 2 strikes will improve his contact rate and increase his ability to hit off-speed pitches. Overall, Rowen is an energetic player with a high ceiling.

04/24/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Rowan is a 3B/OF in the class of 2025 out of Philadelphia, PA. At 3B, he did a good job of showing active feet pre pitch while moving well to both his glove side and back hand. He fields the ball in a low athletic position with clean exchanges to make consistent throws to his targets. In the outfield, he had good footwork on his drop steps which allowed him to work behind the baseball and create momentum on his throws that had carry through the cutoffs. At the plate, he uses an athletic stance with smooth timing to get into a strong launch position at foot strike. His hands work on plane with the pitch where he makes square contact with a line drive approach. With three more years to develop, Rowan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/13/2021 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Rowan is a 2B who will graduate in 2025. Athletic build with some strength present and room to fill out. At 2B, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and active/efficient footwork. Fields from the ground up, with a low funnel, as he tries to center ball. Clean transfers into a high 3/4 release point. Accurate/on-line throws recorded up to 72mph across the diamond. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an even stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Good bat angle at contact, with extension out front, and ability to hit line drives to all fields. Reached base multiple times and recorded 2 hits and a bat exit velocity of 69mph in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

08/05/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Rowan is a 3B/OF prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. In the field, he starts with active/efficient feet and good agility. He fields from an athletic/square fielding position, with soft hands out front, and has a low funnel. Accurate/on-line throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a clean transfer, and an arm velocity up 68mph across diamond. Holds his fielding lane on slow roller with low arm slot. In the OF, he tries to create groundball angels and made the routine play. Accurate throws into infield from a high 3/4 release point. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a tall and open stance. Square glide step, with a good hand separation, and a flat barrel path in zone. High finish as he squared up balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 76mph during his round of BP. With 4 more years of growth and development, this 2-way prospect should have opportunities to play at the next level.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Rowan Griffith is a 3B/OF with a good feel for the game. In the field, Rowan displays a good pre-pitch routine along with active feet and a low fielding position as he keeps his body in front. Range will improve with cone drills and ladder work. He shows good hands as presents his glove out front of his body and plays through the ball. Rowan throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and makes accurate throws to his targets. Rowan can improve defensively through throwing progression and working on faster exchanges. At the plate, Rowan continues to show good mechanics through a spray type approach. He displays an athletic, open set up with a short stride and a good load. Rhythm is smooth as he keeps his balance center and stays through with his lower half. He attacks the ball and takes good hacks through a direct swing path and making consistent contact. Rowan can improve offensively by getting square in his launch position and getting on top of the ball more. Rowan shows great intangibles for the game as he is coachable with a good aptitude, a hard worker and makes adjustments when he needs to.

02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Rowan is a hard working and talented prospect that made several adjustments during the hitting accelerated training weekend. At the plate, Rowan loads his hands back into the drive position and has pre pitch rhythm. He has a simple approach and stays balanced through contact. He does a good job of using the lower half and drives the ball to all fields. Continuing to get stronger and reading the ball out of the pitchers hand will elevate his game to the next level. Rowan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
